The Seat of the Teacher - December - June

The second half of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program is for any participant from Tract 1 who wants to continue on to gain teaching certification. This tract expands on the 1st, focusing on how to skillfully share yoga with reverence to diverse populations. There are no prerequisites for our program, nor do we require you to have been practicing yoga for a certain length of time. You do not need to be "good" at yoga poses to take the seat of the teacher. Our training is open to all who desire to learn. We will prepare you to embody the path and eloquently share it with others.

In Tract 2 we take special care of learning what it means to be a human in these bodies, with our minds, thoughts and emotions.  Here you will benefit deeply from being trained by a Yoga Therapist.  This allows you to gain a vast amount of understanding about our nervous systems, how they carry trauma and what they need to heal.  You will get a comprehensive education on the human body and how to teach to all abilities.  In Tract 2 we begin practice teaching and each month will work on cuiing yoga and slowly build our ability to skillfully teach a full class.  In the weeks we are apart from our live sessions, you will have practice teaching to work on in our student portal.  You will be encouraged to take live yoga classes with the studio and will receive a FREE Yoga membership at SHIFT during this time. ($500 value add!!!)

You will be exposed to multiple styles of yoga including flow, yin, hatha, gentle, therapeutic and prenatal yoga. We will ensure you are skillfully prepared to teach to all populations and grasp how to make yoga truly accessible and joyous for all.  You will learn how to hold a trauma informed space that provides agency and choice for all who will come into your care.  During training students will be expected to continue to study the postures on their own time and attend weekly classes (in person or virtually) to deepen their connection and understanding.

Most importantly you will be empowered with the knowledge, education, tools and skills to share trauma informed yoga with others as a complete path for self healing.  You will learn how to infuse a yoga movement class with the deeper teachings and techniques explored in the Yoga Studies Course in Tract 1.
